Introduction

On October 2019, One Tech Nepal, in collaboration with One Corporation and our CSR initiative One Youth, embarked on an impactful journey to Shree Ammar Secondary School in Talkot, Bajhang. Our mission was to equip the school with essential educational resources, including a fully functional science lab, a well-stocked library, and a modern computer lab. This initiative aimed to provide students with the tools they need to succeed academically and prepare for a bright future in a technology-driven world.

The Challenging Journey to Talkot

Reaching Talkot was a formidable task, as the school is located in a remote part of Bajhang. Our team traveled for days across difficult terrains — first by bus, then by jeep, and finally on foot to carry all the resources necessary for the project. Despite the challenges, we remained committed to delivering these vital resources to the students, ensuring that no obstacles stood in the way of their education.

Key Activities and Impact

1. Science Lab Setup
   We established a state-of-the-art science lab equipped with a wide range of tools and resources:

   • Biology: Animal samples, charts, and essential tools to help students explore the world of life sciences.
   • Chemistry: Chemicals, glassware, and other necessary equipment to conduct experiments and understand chemical reactions.
   • Physics: Tools to study fundamental principles of physics and conduct practical experiments.
   • Microscope & Telescope: These instruments allow students to study biology at a microscopic level and explore astronomy.

   The lab provides hands-on experience for students, helping them develop a deeper understanding of science through practical learning.

2. Library Setup
   We created a comprehensive library to encourage reading and learning beyond the classroom:

   • Story Books & Children's Books: A selection of stories and educational books for younger students to inspire a love for reading.
   • Novels for Teachers: A collection of novels and resources designed for teachers to support their professional development and teaching methods.
   • Charts and Drawings: Educational charts and drawings that provide visual aids for learning across subjects.

3. Computer Lab Setup
   With the goal of improving digital literacy, we set up a computer lab with five computers, each installed with the necessary software for educational use. This lab provides students with access to technology and the opportunity to learn valuable computer skills, which are crucial for their academic and future careers.

4. Art by Volunteer Sherman Nepali
   To enhance the school’s environment, our volunteer, Sherman Nepali, painted beautiful and inspiring art on the walls of the school. His artwork adds a creative touch to the classrooms, motivating students to think creatively and pursue their passions.

5. Stationery and Bags Distribution
   We distributed stationery supplies and bags to students who were in need. This ensured that all students had the necessary materials to support their education.

Community Engagement

Our project went beyond just providing resources. We held interactive sessions with students, teachers, and the local community to emphasize the importance of education and the role it plays in shaping their futures. By involving the community, we aimed to inspire collective responsibility for the growth of education in the region.

Conclusion
